Character information
Name: Killian Jones. Went by Captain Hook a long time ago.
Age: Pretty close to 400 now. He doesn't remember exactly, but he's 381.
Date of Birth: February 23rd, 1634
Canon: Once Upon a Time
Species: Vampire. I chose this one because Hook is very old in canon and was trapped in a world where he didn't age. Vampirism seemed to suit him best.
Role: Islington Nest or Night Council. More or less flits in and out as he sees fit to keep his ear to the ground, but gets along with most and seems almost politically favorable intentionally.
Rank: 4 if possible, but 3 if it's not. He's older and established, and has had plenty of time as a vampire to climb the ranks, what with 300+ years to get his ducks in a row. He's wealthy, charming, has connections and skill, he definitely could have climbed the ranks in that time.
Background: Killian Jones was born to a common man, the second of two boys, his mother gone in childbirth. His father abandoned his children in the dark of night to evade capture for crimes against the crown, and Liam was forced into the Navy to provide for his brother. Killian had to learn to survive on his own.

As soon as he was old enough to pass, he joined the Navy in attempts of finding his brother. Eventually he reunited with his brother, now a captain, and worked as the ship's leftenant. It was one of the best times in his life, but was cut short when his brother was killed following orders for a suicide mission, and the ship seized. Killian was devastated, but led his men through a short period of compliance until they overthrew the imposters and claimed the ship again. Killian refused to go back to the crown that had his brother killed, and was one of the first pirates to ever sail.

He lived as a pirate for some years before he met a married woman in a quiet seaside town. He fell for her and took her away. In attempts to go back for her son they were attacked by her cowardly husband who had accumulated inhuman strength, which he used to murder her as the pirate watched, then lopping Killian’s hand off in punishment. Then after he went by Captain Hook, wearing one to replace his lost hand.

He had a new mission, to find a way to capture enough strength to kill what he called his crocodile. During his exploring, a storm knocked him from the Jolly Roger, and he was unintentionally marooned on a very odd island full of children with a cruel leader. He met a very strange woman also stranded there. They grew close on the island, and together crafted a tiny vessel to escape it before going their separate ways.

After Hook found his crew and ship before he returned to England, hearing of an immortal race that feasted on blood to preserve themselves. In years of searching he managed to find a vampire. He feigned affection for her, and eventually she turned him. He spent a great deal of time with her, and she taught him how to survive.

He spent the rest of his years continuing piracy, gaining a great degree of infamy. As piracy died out Captain Hook disappeared, stowing away his riches as he needed and becoming someone new. He traveled frequently, learning different customs and cultures while all the while trying to find an answer to his revenge.

Now, he is mostly posted in London. He’s fairly influential as vampires go, though it’s well known that he’s loyal to his sire. Little know of his past as Captain Hook, as vampirism restored his lost hand, but many know of his desire for a powerful blade that supposedly holds the power of a dangerous supernatural creature.

Personality: Some might say Hook is a villain. That's not exactly a fair association. That's not to say he hasn't done dastardly, despicable things. Oh no, he certainly has, but evil is incorrect. Self centered, certainly, but not evil. Hook observes only one agenda, and that is his own. He will take the path of least resistance. Sometimes that means playing nice. Sometimes that means violence. He's not malevolent or sadistic. He will do what he must, and he's not above feeling guilty or regretful for it, though he might be above admitting it.

He is a flirt, and will hit on any attractive female he sets his eyes on. He can get downright crude and seems to have issues with personal space. He has claims of being a gentleman, though many might protest that title. Hook is witty, and quite playful and snarky. He seems to enjoy pushing buttons and getting a reaction out of people. He's a pretty seamless liar, too, and only the most seasoned can spot them.

However, his careless attitude and his often tiresome penchant for getting on people's nerves is a persona. It's not very easy to break through it, and there is a reason for that. He can be a dark and destructive person when he has to be, and he is still mourning the loss of his great love so keenly that he often seems to have trouble feeling anything else. It is easier to be a careless playboy than the broken orphan who has lost everyone he has ever cared about. He avoids letting anything provoke emotional impact, even though he can play quite admirably whatever emotion suits a situation.

Killian Jones is nothing if not determined. He has been striving toward revenge for centuries, fixating on avenging the death of his lover and avenging her. He tries to squash any regrets for things he's done in the name of vengeance. Even if Milah wouldn't want this vengeance he dedicated his life to, this is all he has known for hundreds of years.

He stays distant from life, feeling above it and tired of connecting to people he’ll only lose. He also is more self hating and more disinterested with life. He has already lost his, after all, so living holds little allure for him. He keeps people at arm’s length. He still retains his charm but it's a lot more empty now, used to get what he wants rather than a genuine interest in other people. It's not to say people can't make a connection with him; he'd just heavily resistant.

He knows that he walks a path of darkness and there will be no grace to be found at the end of it. He avoids making connections because they will distract from his revenge, and perhaps because he cannot afford the pain of losing anyone else. Even if he's not a typical villain, Hook sees himself as a villain, and that association is not likely to change.

Powers & Possessions:
Powers: As outlined here, he has the powers of all vampires. He's nearly four hundred so he's decently strong, too, a level 5 strength.

Possessions: Hook has a great deal of treasure and wealth accumulated, many homes around the world, and many different boats, from sailboats to a luxury yacht and yes, the Jolly Roger, though she hasn't been seen in some time. He has a daylight ring, as well as some old weapons such as his sword from his days in piracy, mementos of people he's met, and other various items. He has a flat in London and he owns a bar. He still has his hook, but with his hand restored he doesn't wear it anymore.

World building
Locations: The Jolly Roger is a pirate themed bar that is fairly lucrative and successful. Hook is a silent owner, and invites most of his supernatural friends there. Word is there's a back room that allows supernatural types a bit of freedom in a more public setting but you'd need an invite to know that for sure.
Items: A concept weapon of sorts; the dagger of the man that killed Milah, which supposedly holds all his power. Hook doesn't possess it, just wants to.
Magic: n/a
